Frequently Asked Questions.

What is the lifespan of solar panels?
The current industry standard is 25 years with a 10- to 12-year warranty. Generally, panels come with a matching 25-year performance warranty directly from the manufacturer.
What size system do I need?

The size of your solar energy system will depend on how much electricity you consume annually and how much space is available to accommodate your PV array. Your best bet? Connect with us so we can review your consumption and recommend an ideal system for your needs.

Does solar add value to my property?
Yes! Installing a system on your property basically adds equity back into your home. Read more about the surprising benefits of solar on our blog.
Is my roof suitable for a solar energy system?

The ideal setup is a south-facing roof with no shade and space to fit enough panels to offset your energy consumption. However, we’ve successfully installed many systems with creative solutions to overcome limitations. Call us for a free consultation.

How long does installation take?

The physical installation time varies based on the size of the system. It’s best to talk to one of our experts to determine the size of your system, after which we can provide an estimated installation time.

What happens if there is shade on my system?
For maximum efficiency, your solar panels should face south, with minimal to no shade. However, if your system is partially shaded at points throughout the day, alternative solutions are available.
Will my solar system work in a Canadian winter?
Yes, your system will generate power in the winter! As an added bonus, the panels produce heat that will melt light snowfall.
However, if your panels are covered in snow, they can’t produce electricity. Snow generally isn’t heavy enough to cause structural issues with your panels; however, we recommend cleaning off masses of snow so it doesn’t interfere with your production rate.
Will my system still produce energy on cloudy days?
Yes, your solar system will produce energy on cloudy days; however, it may be minimal due to low irradiance of sunlight.
How can I monitor what my solar system is producing?
All of the Vibes Energy-installed systems provide intelligent online monitoring and analysis software.
What kind of maintenance am I looking at?
We recommend regular maintenance for commercial and agricultural systems, while residential systems typically require less frequent upkeep.

Panel systems are made of durable tempered glass and require little to no maintenance for the 25 to 35 years they will generate power. If something happens, most equipment manufacturers include warranties (though warranty terms depend on the brand).
